Here is a case replacing missing front teeth with a man from Naperville that I thought you might like to see. In implant dentistry precision is necessary. We can only place an implant where there is a sufficient amount of bone. Unfortunately many people wait too long and the amount of bone withers away leaving us with a very narrow amount of bone to place the implants.
This is where I use 3 dimensional x-rays called a CT scan. These are then transferred into a computer software program (Simplant or Nobel Guide) to precisely analyze where the implant should be placed. I can then use thos
e to make a “surgical guide” that allows me to transfer the 3d information so that the implants are exactly where I wa
nt them to be within a fraction of a millimeter!
